The Room 101 Cigars collection is a blend of attitude, culture, celebrity, and some of the world’s finest tobaccos. The new line of cigars, especially blended by Camacho cigars is a medium bodied cigar comprised of tobaccos from both Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The wrapper is a Semilla 101 that was exclusively grown for Camacho’s Room 101 cigars. These are boxed in six formats. Each box holds 25 cigars.
The Room101 cigars are available in six formats, all representing different area codes, including the 213 (44×5.5), 305 (50×5), 323 (50×6), 404 (54×52×6), 702 (48×54×48×6), and 808(60×6).
Wrapper: Semilla 101 (Honduras)
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Honduras, Dominican Republic
This is the second one I have smoked thus far. Both have been the 213, which is the 5.5” X 44. I smoked the other about 2 weeks ago and they were very consistant with each other. They both had great construction, nice wrappers with minimal veins in them. The wrapper was a nice medium brown and pretty smooth. They were both pretty firm and had great draws.
However, what they did carry in the construction and appearance they lacked in the flavor department. This is definitely a medium flavor and strength cigar, and I would even venture to say, on the mild side of medium. There really wasn’t anything at all there until you get just about halfway through it. Then is when the subtle pepper shines through and makes you realize you are actually smoking a cigar. There was a light toasted tobacco flavor throughout the entire cigar. About ¾ of the way through it fell off to nothing again.
It did burn rather fast and even. There were only a few touch-ups needed. The ash was light gray and was flakey and did not hold well. It almost seemed to be a mixed filler by the way the ash acted.
Overall, I was not impressed with this cigar. It has some nice marketing, but the cigar does not hold up to the usual, powerful and flavorful line of Camacho I am used to. Give me a Diploma any day over this one!
